The Tate Way
it’s worked so far-
January 24th, 2010randomThe other night I was asked what my passion was. It’s a question I’ve been asking myself for a few weeks now. Do I really have a passion? Do I really need one? Will having a passion subside this creeping feeling I have in the pit of my tummy? Perhaps it will.
I’ve found that when I try and “find” my passion I end of with “hobbies” I don’t really stick with. A few years ago if you would have asked me what my passion was I would have answered with one word – “writing”. But these days everything I write bores me. It makes me wonder what happen to the me that was inspired to write by everything around her. Then I recall what really did happen – life. Life has changed me, put my focus and energy in so many other places. Other adventures. Other dreams. Other lives.
One day my passion will find me so I’m not too worried about it. What I a worried about is that I’ve been in an angsty mood for 2 weeks now and it’s really beginning to annoy me. Perhaps it’s a hormonal shift as I get closer to being 30.
In any case I have the following to say : Hello hormones, It’s me Dianna. Can you back off a little bit?

January 3rd, 20102010Living in the moment worked well for me in 2009.
Living in the moment helped me to:
Revel in every “win”
Think though every “loss”
Understand my son
Fall in love in a totally different and unexpected way
Become more comfortable with who I am
Not make excuses for anything (that’s not always fun)But more importantly living in the moment helped me enjoy every minute of every day. So, I’ll keep on this same path for 2010 and appreciate every moment I am in and not worry about the next moment until it arrives.

December 29th, 2009randomIn 39 days I’ll be 30.
I think this is the age I’m suppose to be not too jazzed about, but I’m not sure why I’m suppose to feel that way. I can only imagine how awesome my experiences will be. I can only imagine how awesome my life will be. I can only imagine how awesome I will be.
In the spirit of celebrating turning 30 I decided to find other people embracing their 30th birthday:
30 Reasons Why Turning 30 Rocks!
Turning 30
Top 30 Reasons to Celebrate Turning 3030 will be awesome. I have no choice but to embrace it.

December 16th, 2009all about me!, randomI started the year with a list of rules. I broke some, I followed others. But I learned a lot.
Things I learned in 2009:
~I like being pushy.
~I’m a complainer.
~Finding the positive is pretty awesome.
~I create my own stress most of the time.
~Not looking for a “life path” makes life a lot easier.
~Everything works it’s self out. EVERYTHING.
~I change myself to adapt to the people and situations around me.
~I’m a really chill person because of the above.
~Life is sometimes annoying because of the two things above.
~My friends are my one of my greatest assets.
~Not looking for love really does work.
~My son still needs a nap.
~I hate washing my face. -
December 5th, 2009holiday cheerFor the last 3 years Tashar and I have sat down and made a list of things he wants for Christmas. But with the understanding that he will not get everything on his list. He wrote “Tashar’s List” and I wrote everything else.

We also made a list of things he’d like to give to other people. It’s 15 people deep this year. Not too bad.
We’ll also be looking through his toys and donating some and trowing away the broken ones.
We’ve made our own traditions: lists, donating, a living Christmas tree, and mommy baking cookies and making TONS of fudge. It’s a good feeling to know that even as a duo we have our traditions. We’re also getting the boyfriend involved this year. He’s getting a gift even though he said not to buy him anything (and he actually meant it). But, if I put that it’s from Tashar, he’ll totally be ok with it.

December 4th, 2009holiday cheer, shopping: on a budget, stuff i likeI have very short hair now, but I can still rock a great headband. Here’s the one I bought this past weekend from Anthropologie. (Early) Merry Christmas to me.
I also bought this for my son. (Early) Merry Christmas to him.

We are now growing 5 Christmas Trees in a bag on our dining table.
And I also got this Advent calendar for a very cute and awesome couple. Happy Advent to you both!
